A routine veterinary consultation covers full physical examination, weight + temperature, dental check, body condition scoring, and a relaxed discussion about diet, behavior, and anything you've noticed. Healthy adult pets benefit from an annual visit; senior pets (7+ years) from twice-yearly.

The consultation is where Dr. Karandikar spots early warning signs before they become emergencies — dental tartar, ear infections, weight shifts, skin conditions. Most consults run 30 minutes, with a written summary and any follow-up plan in your hand before you leave.

Core vaccinations protect against rabies, parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, and parainfluenza for dogs; FVRCP and FeLV for cats. We follow WSAVA-aligned protocols — annual boosters where needed, three-year cycles where the evidence supports it. No over-vaccination for revenue's sake.

Beyond vaccines, preventive care covers monthly tick & flea control, deworming (every 3 months for active dogs), heartworm prevention, and nutrition guidance. Mumbai's monsoon brings a real lift in tick exposure and leptospirosis risk — staying ahead of the schedule matters most for outdoor and street-exposed dogs.

Soft-tissue surgery covers spay/neuter, lump removals, exploratory laparotomy, cesarean sections, and emergency abdominal surgery. Every procedure includes pre-anaesthetic blood work, monitored anaesthesia with capnography, and post-op pain management. No shortcuts on safety.

For complex cases — including senior pets with multiple complications, cryptorchidism, and orthopaedic fracture repair — Dr. Karandikar plans carefully and communicates every step. Pet parents walk out the same day where possible, with detailed home-care instructions and a follow-up call to check in on recovery.

Spay (female) and neuter (male) surgeries reduce reproductive cancer risk, control roaming behavior, and prevent unwanted litters. We do these as planned, not emergency procedures — pre-op blood work, overnight fasting protocol, monitored anaesthesia, and same-day discharge with multi-modal pain management.

Transparent pricing — quoted before the procedure, including anaesthesia, surgery, disposables, the e-collar, and follow-up. No surprises added later. Most pets are bouncing around within 48 hours; Dr. Karandikar follows up on day 3 and day 10 via WhatsApp.
